There is an issue with the PS3 hard disk drive.

Hello Spiceworks,
A friend of mine has a problem with his PS3 Slim 160 GB version. More precisely the console is stuck in the firmware update procedure and at 50% of the update, the console shows the following error code: 8002F1F9
I have personally updated the console firmware, due to the fact the he said that the console can't connect to WIFI hotspots and the controllers can't stay sync with the console without a cable. So I've decided to update the firmware to latest version of firmware via LAN cable. During the update this code has appeared.
For what I've read on internet this code is related to a problem with the wifi/bluetooth module from motherboard. I've changed the module of the console at a dude that is repairing consoles (he had necessary tools to heat the motherboard in order for the module to be removed and place another module), however this error is still present. I even tried to perform the update on my console by moving the HDD from his console on my console however when I've inserted the HDD back to console a format was required.

Is somebody on Spiceworks a console wiz that can give me some advices? Is the console dead ?
console model: CECH 3004A
So I just recently picked up Terraria on the PS4, and I started up my PS3 to upload my old save. The PS3 couldn't connect to PSN but it had firmware 4.80 downloaded, so I figured I'd need to install it before it would let me connect to the network. Around halfway through the update process it will fail and give an error '8002F1F9', which from what I can gather is the code for a bad WiFi/Bluetooth chip. The bad part is the console is in an infinite loop of trying to upgrade, failing, restarting, and trying to upgrade again. At this point I'd be content with just being able to get my saves off of it (Or really just this Terraria save). Anyone have any tips on how to get around the update loop or at the very least know of a way to recover the save files? ![]() Comments are closed.
